The calorie intake should be increased slow and steadily and never should be drastic. The daily food that you consume should have iron, calcium, vitamins A and D, and Folic acid to have a balanced growth of the child. Generally doctors advice a weight increase of 25 pounds to the female during the entire period of pregnancy.

Choice of your food on a daily basis is an important factor for having a balanced diet during pregnancy. You should avoid having excess of diary products and cheese.
